Most the time I step back, take a deep breath, and realize it's okay to relax for a few. Usually while I'm relaxing is the time when inspiration and motivation strike again.
So true, Savannah.
Walk away. Breathe. Watch a movie. Blog. Eat chocolate.
Eat chocolate - That's one of my favorites. :)
With sporadic success? I connect with some folks who recharge me and help me along the way. I'm way more motivated when I feel like I'm not alone.
I don't know what I would do without all the writers I've met through ACFW!
So true!! Doesn't getting a recharge from special people help???
Coffee! Lots and lots of coffee. :) And definitely friends, especially the ones who know the specifics of my goals and hold me accountable.
Friends with coffee is even better! :)
HA HA!!! You stinker, Melissa! That's my line! :)
Do I really need to say it??? :) Ok. Outside of coffee...my husband truly helps me stay accountable and motivated. Sometimes just the necessity of life does that too--there's not the option to fall into the grass and stare at the sky and give up. Finding the deeper meaning in each thing that I do gives me the drive to push forward.
Sometimes I don't. I just need the break. Other times, someone tosses out a bet and my drive to compete keeps me motivated. And sometimes, I focus on why I'm writing and that keeps me going. :)
I look to other writers who are active. It keeps me accountable and want to keep going.
